Calculations and sharing
Amounts, invoice rows and margin calculations are processed in your browser. There is no calculator submission to a VAT Estimator backend. The calculator can place the amount, country, rate and other calculation settings in the page URL. If you share or reopen that URL, its parameters are sent to the hosting service and can be visible to services that receive the page URL. Do not include confidential information in shared links.
Local storage and offline pages
Your browser can store the last 15 calculations, language, theme, number format and display currency. These preferences and history have no automatic expiry and remain until cleared in the calculator or browser settings. A service worker also caches pages and assets for offline use. This storage is local; sharing a calculation URL or generating a QR code is a separate action.
Hosting and external services
- Cloudflare — hosts and delivers this site and can process IP addresses, requested URLs and technical request information for delivery and security. Other site pages also use Cloudflare Web Analytics for aggregate, cookieless statistics.
- api.frankfurter.dev — provides currency exchange rates when the conversion feature requests them. The request includes the EUR base currency, not the amount entered in the calculator. The service receives your IP address and technical request information.
- api.qrserver.com — generates a QR code only when you press the QR button. It receives your IP address and the complete shared URL, which may contain the amount and calculation settings.
- jsDelivr / Twemoji — delivers the emoji library and flag images on other site pages. These requests expose your IP address and technical request information to the CDN.
Cookies and preferences
The calculator runs in your browser. Google Privacy & messaging collects advertising and analytics choices. Necessary consent storage may remember those choices; your calculator preferences and history remain in local browser storage.
Contact messages
The contact form sends your optional name, email, subject, message, site, language and a technical request ID to the shared QRWave contact service, solely to handle your request. Cloudflare hosts and protects the service and its usage counters, Resend forwards the email, and Google/Gmail receives it. Daily counters record only a technical ID, UTC date and site, without email addresses, messages or IP addresses. Active counters are kept for about three days. No automatic reply is sent. Contact fields are not sent to analytics or session recordings and are not saved in browser storage or the service worker cache. Contact pages do not load ads, analytics or a consent dialog. Correspondence retention and controller details still need confirmation by the owner.
Advertising, analytics and consent
We use Google AdSense to display advertising. Google and its advertising partners may process IP addresses, page URLs, device information and cookie identifiers to serve and measure ads. Ads may be personalized or non-personalized depending on consent and applicable regional rules.
Ad requests remain paused until the Google consent system supplies a valid decision or confirms that European consent rules do not apply. In regions where consent is required, refusing advertising storage prevents this site from requesting ads. The former analytics-only banner does not authorize advertising.
Google Analytics 4 measures site usage. Microsoft Clarity can record interactions and generate heatmaps. Their scripts load only after an explicit analytics-storage consent signal from Google’s consent system; missing or unconfigured consent does not enable them. Clarity advertising storage and sharing with Microsoft Ads remain disabled. Cloudflare Web Analytics supplies aggregate, cookieless statistics.
These providers may process information in other countries, including the United States. Their privacy policies describe their processing and applicable safeguards.

Return to the calculator and use “Privacy and cookie settings” in its footer to review or change your choices. You can also delete site data in your browser settings.
Reading these policies
The privacy and cookie policy pages do not load ads, Google consent dialogs, analytics tags or third-party JavaScript. Their content is available without JavaScript or consent. Hosting requests to Cloudflare remain necessary to deliver the pages.
